Future of Yammer iPad App Overview
User Experience
Visual Design
Prototype Development
I worked closely with our Analytics and UX Research teams to:
What we found:
In short, the app's mental model, navigation structure and visual design needed to be rethought.
Our UX research team found that Yammer users progress through three stages of engagement the more they use the product.
We believed that if the app’s mental model and navigation structure reflected those stages of use in the order users progressed through them, then the product would be more intuitive and engaging to use.
This became the basis of our navigation model.
I emphasized solving problems early on paper and on the wall.
High-level wireframes helped us flesh the app out, screen by screen.
We struck a balance, staying true to brand guidelines and iOS conventions.
Always an effective way to communicate ideas.
The Yammer UX research team demoed the prototype to a cohort of Yammer users.
The results validated our hypothesis that the new design would be strongly preferred over the old.
Yammer's product roadmap does not currently include plans to build the app. Stay tuned.
